Trudy Riney Mudd, 88, of Clarksville, our loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister, went to be with our Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She went peacefully and now suffers no pain nor dementia.

Memorial reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2778 Charlestown Road, New Albany. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Clarksville. Private family burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

She was born Nov. 15, 1923 in St. Joseph, Daviess County, Ky., the daughter of Thomas Leander "Len" Riney and Mary Irmine Mulligan Riney. She was married to Dr. Joseph P. Mudd on May 20, 1950. They had 62 wonderful years together and shared far too much for this short prose. She was stricken with early onset Alzheimer's in the late 80s and her family sponsors an Alzheimer's benefit each year to support research for a cure. She enjoyed her family most of all, she was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. She was very active in gardening, entertaining and giving back to her community and her church. She never passed up the opportunity to go dancing with Joe as they both loved dancing together and she would twirl gracefully in his arms.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Joseph P. Mudd, of Clarksville; daughters, Janet Mudd, of Palm Beach, Fla., Deborah Tuggle, of Louisville, and Jolene Barton, of Loveland, Ohio; son, Paul Mudd, of Charlestown; daughter, Dr. Ann Mudd, of Louisville; and daughter, Leslie Mudd, of New Albany; grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, Ashley, Garrett, Justin, Aaron, Natalie, Nicholas, Hunter, Whitney and Bradley; great grandchildren, Hannah and Halle; sisters, Patricia Cheshire, Mary Louise Mudd, and Mary Virginia Kutscher; and brothers, Father Phillip and David Riney.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1946 and her mother in 1985. The family thanks God she was spared any additional pain and is now in the presence of our Lord. She will be sorely missed and will be remembered for the love she shared and the light of life that she brought to so many. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kentucky Southern Indiana, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
