Theresa Marie Boone Lagerstrom Hargadon, 95, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Howardstown, died quietly Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, with family at her side in Louisville. She was born to the late Susan Mattingly Boone and James Franklin Boone on Sept. 21, 1918 in Howardstown. She traveled the world with her nine children and late husband, Leander A. "Butch" Lagerstrom, during his service in the U.S. Army. She also visited Europe and met the pope with her second husband, the late James Hargadon. A devoted mother to each of her children and strong in her Catholic faith, she touched the lives of family and friends throughout her life. She served as a Eucharistic Minister in her church, and volunteered at the Germantown Library and at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Her loving and giving spirit will be deeply missed by each of her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Wine, Agnes Boone, and Margaret Mary Hicks; and seven brothers, John Boone, Louis Boone, Rev. Charles Lawrence Boone, Delime Boone, Anthony Boone, James Boone Jr. and Adolph Boone; her husbands, Leander A. "Butch" Lagerstrom and James Hargadon; and one son, Lee "Butch, Jr" Lagerstrom. She is survived by five daughters, Judy Lagerstrom Schaub, Susan Lagerstrom Sullivan, Cindy K. Lagerstrom, Maria Lagerstrom and Annie Lagerstrom; three sons, Charles "Ed" Lagerstrom, Mark E. Lagerstrom and Rex P. Lagerstrom, MD; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to St. Brigid's Catholic Church Building Fund, Memphis Tenn. A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Howardstown with burial in the church cemetery. A rosary before Mass is 9 a.m. at the church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
