ALVAH HALL, NEW HAVEN RESIDENT, DIES AT 92 - A New Haven resident, Alvah Gregory Hall, age 92, died of a heart attack Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He was stricken ill while he was being transported by ambulance from a Louisville hospital to a nursing home in Elizabethtown. Hall was a retired farmer and sawmill operator. Son of the late George and Katherine Lucas Hall, he was a native of Marion County, but had lived most of his life in the New Haven area. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Joan Hornback, Miss Martha Hall and Mrs. Joyce Greenwell, all of Bardstown; Mrs. Theresa Browning and Mrs. Regina Stewart of Louisville, and Mrs. Betty Cecil of New Haven; five sons, Marvin, David, Raphael, and Larry Hall, all of New Haven, and Louis Hall of Bardstown; 63 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Also a brother, John Hall of New Hope. A con-celebrated funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine Church, New Haven, with the Rev. James Brown, pastor, as chief celebrant. Con-celebrants were the Rev. Lawrence Hardesty, the Rev. Clarence Howard and the Rev. Jack Caldwell. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Ricky Hall, Jerry Browning, Cliff Stewart, Keith Cecil, Philip Hornback, Victor Hall, Bob Greenwell, Ronnie Hall, David Hall, Jr., Dennis Browning, Joey Hall, Billy Clark and Michael Hall. A prayer service was conducted Thursday evening at the Hagan & Nusz Funeral Home, New Haven. The St. Catherine Altar Society held a rosary service at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and the parish Rosary was recited Friday evening.
