Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Howell Morris, 81, daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Howell and Mrs. Mary Young Howell, were held Wednesday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. J. L. Bradshaw in charge. Burial was in the Howell family cemetery. The pallbearers were: Turner Campbell, Richard Ratcliff, Elva Bell, Harden Morris, Thomas Morris, and Ed Morris. Mrs. Morris was born in Taylor County on November 9, 1870 and died at her home near Mac Tuesday, May 8 at 8:00 a.m., having been in ill health for the past several months. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Enoch Morris, September 30, 1909, who preceded her in death in June, 1946. She is survived by one foster son, Mr. J. A. Bell of Taylor County; and two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Grimes and Miss Kate Howell, both of Attilla.
