Misc. Notes
The Larue Co. Herald Aug 5, 1909:
The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Howell, of near Enoch, on July 19, and removed therefrom their lovely daughter, Miss Rebecca, after a short illness of Whooping cough. Rebecca was their youngest daughter and the pet of the family. She was a pretty girl and possessed a bright mind, winning manners and a sweet and innocent spirit. As her life passed away a smile rested on her face, bespeaking the joy which the sight of Heaven brought to her soul.
She was greatly beloved by all her companions. None knew better than she how to bear sunshine into other's lives and was ever kind and lovingly obedient as a daughter. As a sister; the word was pressed to its fullest meaning; so gentle, careful and loving toward her sisters that her presence became their complete happiness, and so very hard to give up.
She will be missed by all who knew her, but most in the home, for there they are so sad and lonely when they see her vacant chair. On the resurrection morning in that bright eternal day the righteous will be made immortal, though in the dust now lay. Her friends around her cold and lifeless body sung a requiem for the dead, while loving hands placed rich flowers on her grave and now in death she sleeps so sweet, so bright the promise shines. "tis like a rainbow over her grave that came from hands divine." - A Friend.
