He was a Marine WWI Veteran, an attorney, a member of the Missouri State legislature, and served as Chairman of the Republican National Committee of St. Louis. He was buried at the Hiram Cemetery in St. Louis County, Missouri according to the death certificate but that is an incorrect name.
