MRS. PARIS RUBY RAPIER, of The Meadows South, died Sunday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was a native of Whitley County. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mae Hurst. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arch L. Heady Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

J. M. (BUD) RAPIER, of 815 S. 31st died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday at the United States Veterans Hospital, Dawson Springs, Ky. He was a veteran of the World War. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Paris Rapier; a stepson, Ervin Lamb, and several brothers and sisters.

J. M. RAPIER DIES AT HOSPITAL TUESDAY - J. M. (Bud) Rapier died Tuesday at 8:25 a.m. at the United States Veterans' Hospital at Outwood. He was born and reared at New Haven. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Lamb Rapier (Note per D. Bohn: wife's name is Paris Ruby McFarland Rapier); his mother, Mrs. Anna Mae Rapier, New Haven; one sister, Mrs. Webb Spalding, New Haven; four brothers, Frank Rapier, Louisville; Claude Rapier, Detroit, Mich.; Julian Rapier, Eldorado, Kansas; and George Rapier, of the United States Navy. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 8:30 from the residence in Louisville and at nine o'clock at Holy Cross Church. Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery. Buried, 11-29-1940, in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Ky. Rapier, James M, d. 04/16/1940, PVT HDQR 13 KY FLD ART, Plot: A 132, bur. 11/29/1940. * (Note, per D. Bohn: I called Zachary Taylor National Cemetery and told them that his name was John and not James. Apparently, his wife is the one that gave them that information. I think the confusion with his first name is because he did not go by his 1st name, John. So it is going to stay James on their records.)
