F. X. RAPIER, 69, DIES THURSDAY AT NEW HAVEN - DEATH FROM HEART TROUBLE - SIX NEPHEWS ACT AS PALLBEARERS - BURIAL SATURDAY
Mr. Frank X. Rapier, of New Haven, 69 years of age, passed away at his home Thursday afternoon [October 29, 1931], death resulting from heart trouble of two years duration. Mr. Rapier's family has been prominent in the New Haven community for nearly a century. For thirty years he was in the employ of the International Harvester Company traveling and was continued on pay from the time of his retirement two years ago until his decease. Surviving him are, his wife, Mrs. Anna Mary Rapier; one daughter, Mrs. Webb Spalding, New Haven; five sons, Claud Rapier, New Haven; Mattingly & Francis Rapier, Eldorado, KS, and George Rapier, China; one brother, Judge F. Boone Rapier, Bardstown; two granddaughters of a deceased son, Misses Yvonne & Lynwood Rapier, Louisville, and numerous other relatives. The funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at nine o'clock by Rev. James H. Willett with a high requiem Mass at St. Catherine's Church, New Haven, followed by burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews, R.H. Edelen, and W.O. Stiles, Bardstown, Rhoda & William Rapier, Louisville, and Messrs. Mattingly, Lebanon.
Noted swine farmer. Proprietor of the Knob Creek herd of Poland China hogs.

MRS. ANNIE M. RAPIER DIES AT NEW HAVEN
Mrs. Annie M. Rapier, 76, widow of the late Frank X. Rapier, died Tuesday at 9:40 p.m. at her home near New Haven. She had been in ill health for some time. She is survived by four sons, Claude Rapier, New Haven; Julian Rapier, Newton, Kansas; Francis Rapier, Louisville; George Rapier, of the U. S. Navy; one daughter, Mrs. Webb Spalding, New Haven; two brothers, Walter and Bernard Mattingly, Lebanon; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Mattingly, Louisville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 8 o'clock at St. Catherine's Church, New Haven, with burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
