Virginia Edelen Bennett, 96, formerly of Taylorsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born December 12, 1921 to the late R.H. Edelen. Jr., and Leona Rapier Edelen. She and her husband Warren owned several businesses in Taylorsville, KY., was a long time member of All Saints Catholic Church in Taylorsville and resided in Hilton Head, S.C. from 1998 to 2018.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Warren Bennett; an infant son, Joseph Warren Bennett; three brothers and five sisters.

Virginia's love for music, tennis, and Kentucky basketball were only surpassed by her love for her family. Virginia is survived by four daughters, Sharon Henry, Judy Bennett, Nancy Tutt (Kelly), and Beverly Trimble, and seven grandchildren – Trey Trimble (Julia), Sam Trimble, JT Mitchell (Trisha), Chris Tutt, Emily Tutt, Jack Tutt, and Lance Tutt, and five great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial mass in her honor at 12:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Lane. In lieu of visitation, there will be a "Celebration of Mom's Life" from 3 to 7 pm EST for friends and family at Undulata Farm, 1600 Zaring Mill Road, Shelbyville, KY 40065. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews" have been entrusted with arrangements.
