I don't think that Sam had the highest opinion of Cora's husband, Conrad (C. A. as my father and grandfather called him) Cecil.  Even though they were related, and they never really said anything, I got the impression that they tended to agree with Sam.  Grandad used to laugh and say that one time C. A. was talking to Sam, and said, "Mr. Howard, do you have a will?"  He said Sam replied, "What do you want to know for?  It's not going to do you a damn bit of good!"  C. A.'s father, Alex Cecil, was Grandad's first cousin.  He and his wife lost a number of children at birth.  I think C. A. was the only one who survived.  Could be he was a little spoiled.  Janet
