Austin Howard died at Howardstown of old age of 76 years. Was the oldest son of Joe Howard, the founder of Howardstown. Married twice, first to Miss Boone by whom he had 4 boys and 1 girl. All survived. His daughter is the wife of William Bell. Mrs. Howard died
September 7, 1878. He married 2nd to Miss Rhodes of Marion Co., who survives. No children by the second marriage.
