11/2003 Mary Jean ( Peak) Owens recalls meeting Raymond and Helen when she was very young while they were there in California. She recalls a set of poker chips Raymond and Helen gave Sylvester, I remember playing with the same poker chips as a child at Eugene Boone Peaks, my grandfathers, house. The grownups for years played poker using these chips on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hse also recalls Fred Peak coming over to eat on a Saturday night while with the Navy in CA. They had franks and beans to eat and Fred said, “not beans again” because he ate so many in the Navy. She and her husband built their own house in CA.134
