This information furnished by Mary Jean Owens : Mary Edna Awalt told her children that her true name is Edna Mary Awalt but some family records show that her name was Mary Edna. There is a discrepancy. Mary died in 1981 at Baldwin Park Convalescent Hospital., Los Angeles of cardiac respiratory failure. She was cremated, 12/22/81, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Cypress, Glendale Calif. according to Certificate of Death. She was a lab technician at Pillsbury Mills a food processing plant. She lived at 9526 Pinehurst Apt. A, South Gate, CA

The following information furnished by Mary Jean Owens (Peak). John Kostas Sr. was deported to Mexico. He must have died just before Antonio (Tony Owens) was born. Mary Edna Awalt (Owens) told her daughter, Mary Jean that he died in an auto accident. He was carrying a great deal of money and was robbed. Before that he moved all his family to Mexico from Cyprus, Greece including his Brothers, Sisters, and Mother and Father. He owned a house in Mexico City when he died. The house was left to Mary Edna. John Jr. lived in Mexico, Ecuador, Panama until 1935 or a little later. He had a passport. He did not speak English until after this time.

Information furnished by Mary Jean Owens: Clifford married Edna (Awalt) in Mexico. His family lived in Youngstown, Ohio. Mary Jean Owens says she met one of his brothers and wife in California on a visit. They are a big family. Clifford Owens has an Uncle named Lester and Aunt, Pearl Owens. They lived in South Gate, California. Pearl died many years ago. Lester was still alive to about 1993 or 1994. They have a son named, Lester Owens Jr.
