Strong woman, hard worker. “Tate” is from her childhood nickname, “Taterbug,” from working in the garden with her brothers.

As a child she would sit on the hill next to the barn up Thompson Hollow and watch the saddlebreds parade around the barn.
Lived in Lebanon, KY as a lodger in Mary Abell’s home in 1940.
I remember seeing her walking to Mass every day in a red coat while I was in grade school at St. Joe Elementary. She also had a pair of pinted wooden shoes on her back porch. - Ray Peake
