Curtiss A. Munyan, 87, passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Fairview Home on March 27, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Elizabeth Munyan; his wife, Dorothy G. Munyan; and his sisters, Addell Gilson and Joyce Munyan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Sandra Munyan, Mary (David) Adams; son, Tim Munyan; stepchildren, Suzanne (Daniel) Maguire-Nugus, William (Susan) Maguire; son-in-law, Edward Winston; grandchildren, Curtiss (Samantha), Stacia and Rory Adams, Michael and Kaeti Winston, Shea-Lyn and Tyler Maguire, Sydney, Andreanna and Kelcey Negus; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Curt retired from NYSDOT as an Electrician Supervisor. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy aboard submarines in the Atlantic and Pacific, of which he was very proud. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 1645 having served as a Past Commander, a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of Submarine Veterans of WWII, Submarine Veterans Inc, the Binghamton Elks and the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank the staff on Level B at GSFH, especially Steve Slater, for the kind and compassionate care given to Curt over the last 6 years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30th, 2011, at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 9 a.m. till the time of the service. Arrangements are by the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY.
