Possibly born in tenent house on Knob Creek, KY. My father told me that the Sowers lived in a house that was in the field right behind our barn, which is across the creek from the entrance to Peake Hollow Road off of 31-E. There was no house there in my time, but there is an old foundation and a well. There is, or was, an old pear tree still in the middle of the field and our cows would stand under it for hours waiting for the fruit to drop. That property was originally owned by Chester Howard, Helen Howard Peake’s father. - Ray Peake
