Nancy Rapier Stiles said you could not buy her a gift, she always gave it back. William Ogden set up an apartment for her to draw the rent money from the tenants, and when she died she had saved it all for him in an account.69

Nelson County couple wanted to be married in Louisville but it failed.
Bardstown, KY, Jan. 1 - Silas Tichenor, of Fairfield, and Mrs. Sally E. Stiles, both well known people, went to Louisville today to be married. It being a holiday, no one was at the courthouse and being unable to hunt up a Deputy Clerk to secure a marriage license, they were compelled to return to Bardstown on the afternoon train. Reaching here a license was secured and they were married this evening W. E. Kellar. They had intended to be married in Louisville in order to avoid display.
