Phoebe was a daughter of Joseph LaRue (1790-1844) and Lucinda Thompson (1795-1861). Her grandfather Isaac, came to Kentucky from Virginia and settled at Nolynn station by 1784. Phoebe married Hillary Silvester Johnson on Oct. 28, 1845. They were the parents of 2 children.
