Frances Evelyn Muir, 83, Bardstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at her residence. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and the University of Kentucky and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Nelson County Board of Education having taught at Bloomfield Elementary School for 29 years. She was a lifelong member of Bloomfield Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nat J. "Sonny" Muir; and her parents, Teddy and Florabelle Harned Wells. Survivors include three daughters, Susan Muir, Marylou "Myrt" Crume, and Natalie Cole, all of Bardstown; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons; a sister, Louise Wells Heizer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Bloomfield Baptist Church with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Brothers Leland Parks, Ryan Lyons and Eddie Benton will officiate. Visitatioi s 2-8 p.m. Friday in the Family Life Center at Bloomfield Baptist Church and 10 a.m. Saturday in the sanctuary of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
