KENTUCKY STANDARD OBITUARY - 09/18/2006
Mary Ellen Muir Talbott, 84, Bardstown, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Windsor Gardens. Talbott, a native of Bloomfield, was a lifelong homemaker, a graduate of Greenbriar Junior College in West Virginia and was formerly employed as a copywriter for the Kentucky Standard. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Democratic Women's Club, the First Presbyterian Church and the Pink Lady volunteers at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She had a lifelong interest in theater arts and was active in the Bardstown Community Theatre groups. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Talbott; her parents, Nat J. and Mary Taylor Muir; and a brother, Nat J. Muir, Jr. Survivors include two sons, John C. Talbott Jr., Ohio, and Sheridan Talbott, Paducah; four daughters, Natalie Blaney, New York, Mary Campbell, Lexington, Nancy Talbott, Bardstown, and Julie Katz, Bronxville, NY; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister, Natalie Muir Brown, Bardstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. John Bare will officiate. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Presbyterian Church or The Nelson County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
