THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, March 30, 1933, Volume LVII, Number 22, Page 2, Column 4:

Neally Verlin SKINNER was born October 12, 1862, and departed this life February 27, 1933, at the age of seventy years, four months and fifteen days. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma LEHMAN, January 9, 1884. To this union six children were born, namely: Henry SKINNER, of Linton; Arthur SKINNER, Bloomington; Delta, who preceded him in death in infancy; Mrs. Reuben BLAKER, Bloomfield, and Lexie, at home; twenty-seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mollie COOK, also of Bloomfield; many nephews and nieces, besides a kind and loving companion survive him. He was converted some years ago at the Allen Chapel church, under Sister MASHON's ministry. Later he renewed his covenant with God, leaving his testimony behind that his soul had gone to be with Jesus. His only book was the Bible, and he always loved to talk about Jesus and His goodness. He was always ready to help anyone whom he saw was in need, especially did he love his children, and devoted his affections upon them, also his companion by whom he will be greatly missed. "A precious one from us is gone; a voice we loved is stilled; a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled, a dear one of faith from us has gone to receive the crown that he has won; may each one live for him to meet up in heaven's golden street."
