Elizabeth “Tate” Bennett is the associate administrator for the Office of Public Engagement and Environmental Education. Ms. Bennett has extensive legislative experience having worked in both the US House and Senate for various Members of Congress, including most recently for Majority leader Mitch McConnell where she served as senior legislative assistant for energy and environment issues. While working for Leader McConnell, she negotiated research provisions on his behalf in the 2014 Farm Bill. Prior to working at EPA, Ms. Bennett worked as the senior principal of legislative affairs at the National Rural Electric Cooperatives. Tate holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in government from Centre College. Tate grew up on a full-time horse farm in Shelbyville, KY. She is a third generation horsewoman and holds 20 world, national and international titles in the American Saddlebred horse industry.
