Richard Stiles married Elsa Horn in 1933. She preceded him in death in 1964.
He married Helen Eske August 16th, 1965. They met in the Sheboygan area where she taught elementary school. They left from New Mexico for a vacation in Mexico, February 22nd 1966, aboard a plane Richard was piloting. It was reported missing that same day, and the wreckage was found March 24th 1966. Richard was laid to rest March 30th 1966. Helen was laid to rest in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Lebanon, Wisconsin.
Richard was survived by his father, 3 children, and a sister.
