Charles J. Clephas, 85, died Friday at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was a retired employee of the old Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co., an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 201, Railroad Retirees, National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees, First Air Commando Association, Young Harts Theatre and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Survivors: his wife, the former Lucille Church; a son, Alan Estes; daughters, Teresa Barnett, Margaret Sanders and Gale Skees; stepsons, Warren, Paul, David, Tom, Jim, Mike and Pat Bruenderman and Jim Ross; stepdaughters, Diane Buddington, Katherine Bruenderman, Nancy Skiles, Carol Paisley and Martha Grey; a sister, Agatha Ryan; 28 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday, his church, 3315 Lexington Road. Burial: Calvary. Visitation: Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
