Sister Mary Carleen died January 30, 2006 at Palos Community Hospital, Palos Heights, Illinois. Sister was 91 years old.

Born Mary Charlotte Roberts, in Athentonville, Kentucky to George and Anne Rapier Roberts on December 20, 1914, Sister was professed in 1938 and began her teaching career at Holy Assumption School, West Allis, Wisconsin. Sister Carleen was one of seven sisters who flew to Guam in 1949 to open St. Francis School and she remained there for ten years.

Further schools at which Sister Carleen was missioned include St. George, Kenosha, Wisconsin; and these Illinois schools: St. John De la Salle, Chicago; St. James, Belvidere; St. Mary, Kickapoo; St. Anne, Dixon; St. Mary, Sycamore; St. Mary, DeKalb; and St. Rosalie, Harwood Heights.
