MRS. MATTINGLY DIES, FUNERAL AT BARDSTOWN - Mrs. Josie Bell Mattingly, 88, died at 7 a.m. Friday, March 27, at her home on Pottershop Road, near Bardstown. She had been ill since Christmas. The widow of Will Mattingly, a farmer, who died in 1950, Mrs. Mattingly was born and reared in the Manton section, and was well known here. Surviving are three sons, Albert Mattingly, who lived with his mother, and Willie Mattingly, of Bardstown; Robert Mattingly, Loretto; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Graybeal, Shelby County; Mrs. Zoeller Downs, Shelbyville; Mrs. Carl White, Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Lula Peters, Louisville; a sister, Mrs. Millard Reid, Bardstown; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Willett officiated at the high Requiem Mass. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, John Robert Mattingly, Nathaniel Peters, and David Peters. The body was at the Mann, Greenwell & Arnold Funeral Home. Buried, 3-30-1964, in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bardstown, Ky.
