Lloyd was born on June 7, 1926, in St. Donatus, IA, the son of Norbert and Catherine (Malone) Heiar. He graduated from Charlotte High School and joined the US Army. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne stationed in Germany just after WWII.
Lloyd worked in Charlotte as a feed grinder, farmed in Charlotte, and sold Crow’s Seed Corn for over 25 years until 2000. He married Lucille Elizabeth Assenmacher on Jan. 31, 1951 at Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte; she died August 19, 1968. He later married Mary Catherine Peake Golden on Aug. 14, 1971 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport.
Lloyd was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and American Legion Post 190, Clinton. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lucille, a son, Jeff, a stepson, Burnie, two grandsons, two brothers, and two sisters.
