Thomas A. Peake, 89, of Alexis, IL died 7:45 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born February 25, 1926 in rural St. Augustine, IL. He was the son of Thomas D. and Mary Ann (Hagan) Peake. He was raised and educate in Alexis, graduating from Alexis High School in 1943.
Tom served with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952.
Tom married Marilyn Lindstrom at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galesburg on Feb. 14, 1953 and she survives.
Tom farmed for 50 years. He also worked part time as a salesman Sampson Implement and later Kleine Equipment for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Alexis.
Survivors include his wife his son, Richard Peake of Clinton, IA and 1 sister, Mary Catherine Heiar of Clinton, IA; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Alexis. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Galesburg. Cremation has been accorded. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be given to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church or the Cardinal Community Manor, Alexis. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Alexis is in charge of the arrangements.
