Georg was the son of Johann Balthazar and Maria Dorothea Mayer Knortzer of Treschklingen, Germany. He married 1st Anna Marcretha Upp before 1747 in York Co, PA. From this union were born five known children: Johannes Nicholaus, Andreas "Andrew", Johann Balthazar "John Balser", Anna Marcretha "Mary Margaret" Wortman and Marie Catherina. He married 2nd Margaretha Elizabetha M. after 1754 in PA. Divorced August 20, 1764. He married 3rd the widow Marie Eva "Eve" Schmidt Adams about 1764 in Rowan Co, NC. From this union were born three known children: Margaret Mings, Jacob and Christopher.

John Hetterbrand, Adminstrator of the estate of Christopher Conester deceased of the County of Rutherford, NC, impowered James Chitwood or his heirs to make a title to a 50 acre tract of land "on the waters of Wards Creek which was entered by Christopher Conester and the said place that Daniel Workman (son-in-law) now lives on." Samuel Carpenter, Samuel Swan and Benjamin Beaver were witnesses.
