James Noel Greenwell Sr., 57, 406 Mulberry St., Lebanon, died at 5:10 a.m., Oct. 6, 1997, at Lexington V.A. Hospital, Lexington. Born April 8, 1940 in Nelson County, he was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war and a former route man for Deans Milk Co. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Mudd Greenwell; his father Gonza Greenwell; his mother Inez Hagan Greenwell Burba; two brothers Donald and Joseph Greenwell; and a sister, Janice Bailey. Survivors include one daughter, Jean Oliver, of Lebanon; two sons, James Timothy Greenwell and James Noel Greenwell, Jr., both of Atlanta, Ind.; two brothers, Reggie Greenwell of Bardstown and Jim Greenwell, of West Linn, Ore.; three sisters, Mary Lois Harned of New Haven, Wanda Donaghy, of Philadelphia, Tenn., and Carol Hall of Bardstown; and six grandchildren. Services were at 11 a.m., at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with burial in Lebanon national Cemetery. Father Joseph Dawson officiated. Pallbearers were Charlie Bright, Randy Luckett, Billy Battcher, Norman Turner, John Smith and Billy Benham.

Mrs. Barbara Jean Greenwell, 45, of Houma, La., died at 4 a.m. April 4, 1988, at Baptist Hospital, Louisville. Mrs. Greenwell was a native of Marion County and was formerly employed as a sales clerk at the Top Shop in Lebanon. She was preceded in by her parents William "Billy" and Mary Catherine Mattingly Mudd. Survivors include her husband, Noel Greenwell, of Houma, La.; two sons, James Timothy Greenwell, Lebanon, and James Noel Greenwell, of Houma, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Farley (Jean) Oliver of Houma, La.; three sisters, Mrs Ronald (Mary) Goodwin, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Mrs. Ronnie (Pearl) Cambron, Bardstown; and Mrs. Ben (Ruth) Barlow of Lebanon; one brother William J. (Billy) Mudd of Jeffersonville, Ind.; four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., April 7, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery. The Rev. Ivo Cecil officiated. Pallbearers were Pat, Jimmy and Joe Mudd, Tommy Young, Norman Turner and Ben Barlow. Prayer services were conducted at 7:30, April 6, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon.
