Ran the Talbott Tavern from 1886 to 1912. All his children were born and raised there. Out of 12 children, including 2 sets of twins, only five reached maturity, and one of these, Thomas, died in early manhood. During that time a meal cost 25 cents, and a room cost 50 cents a night.
