Harry Louis “Pinky” Seeger II, 95, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Bardstown Health and Rehab Center. He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Louisville. He was a championship quality tennis player, an avid golfer that had three holes-in-one that he was very proud of, and a true connoisseur of the Bourbon experience and lifestyle. Family and friends alike had the pleasure of knowing his zest for life and his sociable nature, although at times he could be a very private person as well. He was a member of the fabled Bardstown High School football team that was “undefeated” and unscored” upon that was coached by Coach Tom Ellis in the 1940-1941 season. Last but not least, he was a proud veteran of World War II, who served his country as many from that generation did without hesitation. He was preceded in death by his childhood love and wife of 68 years, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Greenwell Seeger; his treasured parents, Harry Louis Seeger Sr. and Imogene Marie Muir Seeger; as well as a beloved cousin, Louis Seeger Crume. He is survived by two daughters, Imogene McNairy Parker and Mary Elizabeth Seeger, both of Lexington; two sons, Harry Louis Seeger III, and Burr Richard Seeger both of Bardstown; eight grandchildren, Mimi, Harry IV, Elizabeth, Muir, Gus, Katie, Jimmy, and Liz; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery with the Rev. Karl Lusk officiating. Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or American Red Cross. Barlow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
