Joseph Leo Mudd Sr., 71, died Sunday at Corinthian Assisted Living Center. He was a native of Fredericksburg, a retired maintenance employee of General Electric Co., an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Electronic Workers Local 761, Independent Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus Newman Council and St. Athanasius Catholic Church. Survivors: sons Joe II, Bryan and Pat Mudd; daughters Mary D. Auter, Shannon Noonan and Mary Jane Murdock; a brother, Felix Mudd; a sister, Isabel Buckman; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 6000 Preston Highway. Burial: Evergreen. Visitation: Evergreen, 4623 Preston Highway, 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Memorial gifts: World War II veterans Memorial Fund, c/o Veterans Administration.

COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 08/30/2009
MUDD - Barbara J., 77, of Louisville, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Norton Suburban Hospital. She was the former Barbara Beam, a retired housekeeper for the old Methodist Hospital, a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and the church's prayer group, a member of the Marion Center, the Blue Army and a Kentucky Colonel. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles E. Sr., and Alberta Spalding Beam; her brothers, Richard L. and Charles E. Beam II; and her former husband, Joseph L. Mudd. Survivors include her children, Mary Debra Auter, Barbara Shannon Noonan, Mary Jane Murdock (Lynn), Joseph L. Mudd II (Therese), Bryan G. Mudd and John Patrick Mudd (Julia); sisters, Frances A. Clements, Katherine L. Hall and Mary J. Steckbeck as well as 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 6000 Preston Hwy., with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bardstown, KY. Visitation will be 4 8 p.m. Monday and noon 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor or the Marion Center in her memory.
