Abingdon, IL - Philip P. Fox, 86, of 606 N. Washington St. died at 10:11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 1991, at his residence.

Born Sept. 17, 1905, in Woodburn, Iowa, to Thomas and Nora McGuane Fox, he married Anna Mae Peake on Sept. 25, 1932, in Abingdon. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, John of Abingdon and Robert of Kirkland, Wash.; one daughter, Phyllis Fox of Abingdon; 10 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nora Kathryn Fox, three brothers and two sisters.

He worked for 25 years at the former Growe Manufacturing Co. of Galesburg before retiring in September 1964.

An Abingdon resident since 1932, he also lived in Woodburn Iowa for 21 years and St. Augustine for seven years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon.

Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.

Abingdon, IL - Mae Fox, 95, of 606 N. Washington St. died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

Born May 29, 1903, in New Haven, Ky., to Robert Damascus Peake and Mary Susan Fogle Peake, she married Philip P. Fox on Sept. 25, 1932, in Abingdon. He died Sept. 21, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Fox, on June 17, 1998, and Nora Fox; one sister; and five brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Portland, Ore., and John of Abingdon; one sister, Cecelia Melton of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She worked at Blue Bell Manufacturing Co. She and her husband also operated a gas station, grocery store and a Maid-Rite sandwich shop. She later worked at the Ben Franklin store and last worked a Russ's Grocery Store, both in Abingdon.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
