BLANDFORD, MARIETTA BOWLING, 92, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at North Hardin Nursing Home, in Radcliffe, KY. She was born on March 22, 1919 in New Haven, KY to James Nicholas Bowling and Mary Irene Boone. She was a graduate of St. Catherine High School and was employed by Bank of New Haven several years before moving to Louisville to become purchasing agent for Our Lady of Peace Hospital. She was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Shively for nearly 35 years, where she was active in the Altar Society and the Quilting Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Clement Leroy (Roy) Blandford; two stepchildren, William (Billy) Blandford and Malinda Blandford; one sister, Sr. Mary Janette, OSU; four brothers, Rev. George K. Bowling, Martin Bowling, William Paul Bowling, Rev. Robert A. Bowling; and one sister-in-law, Anna Rose Bowling. She is survived by one sister, Mary Louise Bowling of Louisville; her caregivers, Paula Bowling Greenwell of Elizabethtown, and Doris Bowling Rust of New Haven; two stepdaughters, Sharon Bidwell and Bonnie Abell of Louisville; five sisters-in-law, Marguerite Bowling (Martin), Rosanne Bowling (William Paul), Rose Blandford Cusick, Margaret Blandford (Joe), Daisy Blandford (Harry); and several nieces, nephews and stepgrandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Catherine Church in New Haven. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 and beginning at 9 a.m. Friday at Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven. Burial will be in Bethany Memorial Gardens, 10915 Dixie Hwy., Louisville, KY. Expressions of sympathy may be given to Mass of the Air, Hosparus, or St. Catherine Grade School, New Haven, KY.
