Misc. Notes
Robert Brounker was recorded in the visitations of Wiltshire in 1565[1] and 1623[2]. He had married a daughter of Gouldinge (her first name was not recorded) and had two children, Henry and Joane.
The will of 'Robert Bruncker' was made on 31 Jan 1535/1536 and proved on 17 Feb 1537/1538[3]. His will was to be buried in 'the newe ile' of the parish church of Milkesam (Melksham), Wiltshire. He made bequests to the mother church of Sarum (Salisbury), the church of Whaddon and the church of Broughton. He bequeathed sums to the building of the tower, the repairing of the bridge and the mending of the highways. The residue of his goods he gave to his son, Henry, who was appointed executor. Sir Edward Baynton was requested to assist in the execution of the will.
The will did not include any reference to a wife, nor to his daughter Joan, the husband of John Smyth.
Robert Brounker was recorded in the will of his son in law, John Smyth of Corsham, Wiltshire, the will made and proved in 1538[4], as having provided John Smyth with £160 for the use of his children, and £20 for the use of Henry Ffryse.
