Paul "Judge" Dawson, 71, died Saturday at his home. He was a principal assistant in the Kentucky secretary of state's office, a retired postal employee, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Spalding Council and Democratic Shamrock Club. Survivors: his wife, the former Martha L Ferriell; two daughters, Paula Staples of Shelbyville and Debby Roberts of Lexington; two sons, Ken and Steve Dawson; two sisters, Halewood Brady and Connie Holland; and nine grandchildren. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Holy Spirit Catholic Churcty 3345 Lex- ington Road. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Visitation: Barrett Funeral Home, 1230 Bardstown Road, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Memorial gifts: Hospice of Louisville or St. Vincent dePaul Center.
