JOSEPH MAURICE CARRICO, 74, of 3804 Beaufort Lane, died there Sunday. He was a native of Springfield, retired owner and operator of Springfield Laundry & Dry Cleaners and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, the former Marion A. Matheis; eight daughters, Debbit Neace of Dayton, Ohio, Theresa Young of Frankfort, Alma Haluch of Trumbull, Conn., Nickie Grass of Atlanta, Joyce Dougherty, Polly Michelsen, Nell Otis and Phyllis Mettling; four sons, Perry C. Carrico of Springfield, Steven M. Carrico of Columbia, S. C., and Joseph M. Jr. and Donald H. Carrico; three sisters, Sister Mary Corda and Sister Carmansita, both of Owensboro, and Norma Hagan of Lexington; five brothers, Eric Carrico of Paris, Lester Carrico of Bardstown, Joseph B. Carrico of Charlestown, Ind., and John W. and James H. Carrico; and 33 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield after 2 p.m. Monday.

JOSEPH MAURICE CARRICO, 74, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, October 5, 1986 at his residence in Louisville. A native of Washington County, Mr. Carrico was the son of the late Booth and Alma Bell Carrico, long deceased. He was a retired partner in Springfield Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He began work there in 1938 and retired in 1974. The Carricos celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 30, 1986. They have resided at 3804 Beaufort Avenue in Louisville for the past six months. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a charter member of Springfield Lions Club and a member of St. Dominic Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Marion Aleen Matheis; four sons, Joseph M. Carrico, Jr., Donald H. Carrico, both of Louisville; Perry C. Carrico, Springfield, and Steven M. Carrico, Columbia, S.C.; eight daughters, Mrs. Joyce Dougherty, Mrs. Polly Michelsen, Mrs. Nell Otis, and Mrs. Phyllis Mettling, all of Louisville; Mrs. Debbie Neace, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Theresa Young, Frankfort; Mrs. Alma Haluch, Trumbell, Conn; and Mrs. Nickie Grass, Atlanta, Ga; and 33 grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, John W. and James H. Carrico, both of Louisville, Eric Carrico, Paris, Ky; Lester Carrico of Bardstown; and Joseph Booth Carrico of Charleston, Ind.; three sisters, Sister Mary Corda and Sr. Carmansita, both of Owensboro, and Mrs. Norma Hagan of Lexington. Funeral Mass was said at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Church, with burial in St. Dominic's Cemetery. Officiating at the funeral mass was the Rev. Joe Hayden. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Monday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, who was in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons: Joe Dougherty, David Carrico, William Thomas Carrico, James H. Carrico, Michael and Christopher Michelsen and Jeff Clements. The family has requested all contributions be made to J. Graham Brown Cancer Foundation in Louisville. Mr. Carrico was preceded in death by one son, David Carrico in 1961 and two sisters, Mrs. Nixon Clarkson in 1980 and Mrs. Tessie Elder in 1986 and also by one brother, Perry A. Carrico, in 1978.
