Lillian Viola Beard, 95, of Buffalo, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was a member of Wesley Meadows United Methodist Church, and retired owner/operator of Beard's Grocery in Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Douglas Beard; her parents, Grover Cleveland and Nellie Morris Thompson; a sister, Ethel Farris; and three brothers, Ray, Raymond and Frederick Thompson.
Survivors include two daughters, Ola Charlene Beard of Buffalo and Ruby LaVerne Brown of Louisville; a son, David Beard of Louisville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, with the Rev. Bill Rounsaville and the Rev. Jody Van Sickle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Buffalo.
