Union Band Cemetery has a memorial stone for him. He died on Okinawa during the last part of WWII and is buried in Diamond Head Cemetery, Pearl Harbor, HI.

Dorothy Stiles Hopewell Miller, 95, widow of Scott Miller, died Tuesday, October 20 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home. Born in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Burr and Annie Coakley Stiles.
Mrs. Miller earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1942 from the University of Kentucky, was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church, was an active farmer and owner of the Stiles Family Farm in Nelson County.
Survivors include a son, Stiles Todd Miller of Versailles, special friends, Jan Schoo, Peppy Seitz, Jennifer Bradley, Lou Nunnelley, Bessie Bain, Mrs. Frances Foley, Martha Cary Queen, Ber and Woo Rasnick and their family, and Barbara Smith and her family. In addition to her husband, Scott, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hopewell, and a brother, George Stiles. Visitation is 3 to 6 pm, today at the Miller home, 189 Elm Street, Versailles. Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday at Union Band Baptist Church in Stiles, KY with Rev. Bert Eyster officiating. Burial will follow at Stiles Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Hopewell, David Hopewell, Kenny Morris, Daniel Morris, Tony Wilhoit, David Allen Stiles, Jim Skardon, Perry “Buck” Buckner, Jock Miller, Mason Miller, Bob Agee, Denny Nunnelley, Rocky Roberts, and Michael Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Bonnie, James and the kitchen staff at Taylor Manor Nursing Home, Mark Parrott and Olson Parrott. Memorials are suggested to the Stiles Cemetery Fund, c/o Bill Shoemaker, 180 Gaddie Ford Rd. New Haven, KY 40051 or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
