Mrs. Alice Elliott, age 79, widow of Alex Elliott, died December 10 at the Metzmeir and Hays Nursing Home at Campbellsville, where she had been for some time following a major operation at Baptist Hospital in Louisville several months ago.
She was a daughter of the late P. W. and Susan Phelps Martin and had been the last member of her family for many years. Her husband also preceded her in death twenty years.
She leaves a foster son, Bert Elliott, of Hodgenville; a niece, Mrs. Wm. Suter, of Bear City, Calif; three nephews, Charles Gardner of Louisville; Edwin Gardner, of Indianapolis, and Ben Gardner, of Bear City, Calif; also two foster grandchildren, Alvin Elliott of Vine Grove, and Miss Ann Elliott of this place, and a devoted little foster great grandson, Bobby Elliott.
She had been a life-long member of Hodgenville Baptist Church and was one of its most faithful members. Funeral services were conducted there Friday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Stevens, and burial was in Red Hill Cemetery.
