Dorothy Florence Dawson Bullock, 96, of New Haven, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009, at Loretto Mother House in Loretto.
She was born Jan. 7, 1913, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Francis X. Dawson and Mariam Harrell Dawson. She was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven and the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Altar society. She was organist for St. Catherine Catholic Church for nearly 30 years, and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Francis "Tom" Bullock Sr.; three brothers, Raphael Dawson, Lewis "Abe" Dawson and Lawerence Dawson; and a sister, Mary Agnes Dawson Mahoney.
She is survived by three sons, Tom Bullock Jr. of Howardstown, Bob Bullock of LaGrange and Pat Bullock of Louisville; two daughters, DeAnna Hicks of Florence and Betty Vittitow of Athertonville; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Florence Dawson Bullock is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Jeffrey P. Leger officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Loretto Mother House, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx, and from 3 to 8 p.m. today at William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven, where it will continue from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. There is a Rosary service by the Altar Society at 4 p.m. today and a prayer service at 7 p.m. today, both at the funeral home.
