George Sylvester Peak, 82, of Evansville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his daughters residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
George was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 9, 1930 to the late Chester and Mayzell (Warren) Peak. George retired from Hardy Brake after 13 years of service working in sales. He previously worked for Nixon Transportation in Ft. Branch as a mechanic.
George was a member of the Salvation Army where he worked in the food pantry. He also attended New Life Ministries Church. George enjoyed repairing and fixing anything from home maintenance to working on vehicles for his family and friends. He was very outgoing and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma (Vowells) Peak of Evansville, IN; daughters, Deborah (Clifford) Geary of Evansville, IN, Melinda Blocker of Evansville, IN, Lisa (Creighton) Roberts of Brunswick, GA; sons, Robert (Judith) Peak of Henderson, KY, Michael (Laurie) Peak of Ft. Myers, FL, Timothy (Teri) Peak of Evansville, IN; sister, Doris Thornhill of Evansville, IN; brother, Chester (Judy) Peak Jr. of Evansville, IN; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Charmaine Morrison.
