UNUSUAL ACCIDENT TAKES LIFE OF LYNWOOD RAPIER - Funeral Mass was offered for victim of an accident, Miss Lynwood Rapier, of Louisville, at 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, at St. Catherine Church, New Haven, by the pastor, Rev. Paul M. Russell. Interment was in the church cemetery. Miss Rapier, 55, daughter of the late James and Jennie Price Rapier, of New Haven, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from injuries sustained in an accident. She was critically injured about two hours earlier in Pompano Beach, Florida, when attempting to step from a dock into a boat, she slipped and fell and the boat's churning propeller apparently sucked her underwater, according to Pompano Beach police. One sister, Mrs. Yvonne Axman, of Jacksonville, Florida, survives. Also a niece, Mrs. Mary Rose Weatherford, Jacksonville, and three great nieces. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, had charge of arrangements here.
