Bardstown, Nelson Co, KY
Edna B. "Eddie" Newcomb, 68, of Bardstown died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at her home. She was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Mary Josephine Greenwell Boone of New Haven. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Newcomb and one brother, Joseph William Boone.
A graduate of St. Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing, she worked for 15 years at the Nelson County Health Department as a registered nurse. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Nelson County, a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society and a member of the Flaget Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Newcomb; two sons, John L. "Jack" Newcomb Jr. and William D. "Bill" Newcomb, both of Bardstown; three daughters, Ann Schauer and Cathy Farnsworth, both of Louisville; and Barbara Greenwell of Bardstown; eight sisters, Margie Johnson of Bardstown; Cecilia Johnson, Mary Jean Hagan and Teresa Thompson, all of New Haven; Catherine Keene of Louisville; Sister Mary Regina Boone of Mount St. Joseph; Sister Joseph Angela Boone of Owensboro; and Josephine Dworzan of Orange, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorial donations should be made to Hospice of Nelson County and to Bethlehem High School.
