FRED BOONE, 67, FORMER NELSON COUNTIAN, DIES - Funeral services for Joseph Frederick "Fred" Boone, Nelson County native, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at St. Raphael Church, Louisville, with burial in St. Catherine Cemetery at New Haven. Mr. Boone, 67, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, May 27, at his residence, 2167 Lowell Avenue, Louisville, after a long illness. He was retired from Tommy Borders Meat Processors. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine Borders Boone; four daughters, Mrs. William Voyles, Sellersburg, Ind.; Mrs. Jerry Wilkinson, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Mrs. Gordon Williams, Taylorsville; and Mrs. Bruce Raque, Louisville; four sons, Joseph A., Michael E., Thomas S. and Fred D. Boone, Louisville; 10 sisters, Mrs. Pat Thompson, Mrs. Erroll Johnson and Mrs. Edward Hagan, of New Haven; Mrs. Hugh Johnson and Mrs. John L. Newcomb, of Bardstown; Mrs. Josephine Dworzan, Orange County, Calif.; Mrs. Frank Keene, Louisville; Sister Aloise, St. Margaret Mary School, Louisville; Sister Regina, a teacher in Nebraska; and Sister Joseph Angela, Mt. St. Joseph Motherhouse, Maple Mount, Ky.; a brother, Joseph W. Boone, of New Haven; and 21 grandchildren. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Retirement Fund for the Ursuline Sisters of Mt. St. Joseph. Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, was in charge of local arrangements.
