PIERCE, CHESTER J. "CHET," 87, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at Sacred Heart Village. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Chet was a native of Springfield, IL. He came to Louisville as a pilot, during World War II and was stationed at Bowman Field. After the war, he bought the Adams Co., with a GI loan and operated the company for 50 years. He was a past president of City Salesman Club, a past member of the Hustbourne Kiwanis Club and Serra Club of Louisville. He is survived by his wife, three children, seven stepchildren, and 10 grandchildren. Chet's body was donated to U of L Medical School. A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
