Joanne Stiles Perkins, 73, of New Haven, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at the residence of her daughter in Shelbyville.
Born in Adair County, she was the daughter of Josephine Oliver Stiles and the late George G. Stiles, and the widow of James Franklin Perkins. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Whelan.
Her survivors, in addition to her mother, include her seven children, Angela Girdley and her husband, Jim, of Fountain Run, Paul Perkins of New Haven, Jay Perkins of Louisville, Elizabeth Spugnardi and her husband, Jim, of Shelbyville, Jennifer Gaither and her husband, Chris, of Louisville, Phillip Perkins, and his wife, Sharon, of Louisville, and Andy Perkins, and his wife, Crystal, of New Haven; and her brother, David Stiles of Oklahoma.
Services: 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Union Band Baptist Church in Stiles with the Rev. Wyndee Holbrook officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Interment will be in the Stiles Family Cemetery in a private family service and at a later date.
