Buried in St. Charles Cemetery, St. Mary, KY. The book about St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery by Gerald Thompson, states that his marker had shown: "George L. Hamilton b. 6-14-1818 - d. 10-02-1853," which indicates that his stone was standing when Dr. Joseph E. Johnson, a Louisville dentist, recorded St. Charles Cemetery in 1935, but was no longer standing when Gerald Thompson recorded St. Charles Cemetery in 1979.
