Mary Cecilia Knoop, 98, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at Westminster Terrace. She was the former Mary C. Bowling, a native of New Haven, KY, a retired cashier for Sears, Roebuck & Co., with 25 years of service, and a member of St. Martha Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons, Frank Knoop and his wife, Shirley, and James Knoop and his wife, Mary Evelyn, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at her church, 2825 Klondike Ln., with interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Memorial gifts may go to Mass of the Air.

Franklin J. Knoop Sr., 71, of 2920 Nepperhan Road, died Thursday [January 18, 1979] morning at his home. He was a native of Louisville, a member of Knights of St. John and was retired after 41 years at the California Packing Co. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary C. Bowling; two sons, James L. & Franklin J. Knoop Jr.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane. Visitation will be at Ratterman's, 3800 Bardstown Road, after 1 p.m. Friday.
